Cape Breton Mysteries Sea Child

SEA CHILD

I’m pleased to announce the launch of my new book on May 28th, 2022. Sea Child is the second in the Cape Breton Mystery series.

Sea Child book cover

Caught up in an investigation that threatens the lives of those he loves, Detective Gordie MacLean and his partner are drawn into a dark world far removed from the seemingly simple life of a lobster fisherman.

In book two of the Cape Breton Mystery series, MacLean and Albright must untangle a web of treachery to solve the mystery behind an unexplained death before innocent victims pay the price.

For fans of P.D. James and Ruth Rendell, Sea Child brings the classic police procedural to life in a Canadian setting.

  1. Hi Renny.
Congratulations! Another book published. My copy will be here on June 3. I will be away from the 5th to the 8th. The timing is great, I will be taking the Sea Child with me.

  2. Dear Renny,
It gives me great pleasure sharing with you the fact that you would make an amazing ambassador for the love of reading.
I have read both Cape Breton mysteries and fell right into the books.
It is not often that I can share books with my twelve year old granddaughter that are appropriate and enjoyable.
    Looking forward to Book 3.
    Thank you

    1. Hi Marilyn – thank you so much for your kind comment! I’m so pleased that you enjoyed the books and even more so, knowing you are able to share the stories with your granddaughter – that’s delightful!

  3. Hello Renny,

A short time ago (it’s 9:27 AM EST now), I finished reading “SEA CHILD”, which I found to be a a cleverly constructed, well-written mystery novel. You certainly stumped me as far as determining who it was that done the foul deed.

Normally, I’m not much of a reader of contemporary detective/mystery novels. (Historical novels are more my thing.) But I very much liked the Cape Breton setting in “Sea Child” and the way Detectives MacLean and Albright worked together on solving the case. I will be reading Book 3 of the series.

    Thanks.

    Wes

    1. Hello Wes – sorry for the long delay in responding to your lovely note about SEA CHILD. I’m so pleased you enjoyed it and I’m happy you were ‘stumped’! Thank you for your support with the purchase of my book (s). Best regards, Renny
