Awards Historical Fiction Torn Asunder

Another Award for Torn Asunder: Winning Awards – The Real Story

Amidst the sad and scary news this week, I had a wonderful email land in my inbox. I was notified that my new Historical Fiction, Torn Asunder, had been awarded a Chill With A Book Premier Readers’ Award out of the U.K. As per the notification, A Premier Readers’ Award is only honoured to books that receive exceptional high evaluations from Chill Readers

For anyone counting, that make three awards now!

A recap:

1. The Coffee Pot Book Club Award

2. A Miramichi Reader Pick badge

I must admit that I am so pleased to have these awards given to Torn Asunder, but the real gratification comes from the reviews and comments that go with the awards, as well as simply from every-day readers. Some come via Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/48856495-torn-asunder), some on the various amazon sites (.ca, .com., .uk) or other online retailers, and some come directly by mail, email, facebook messages and text messages. Whatever format the comments come in, who could help but be delighted with comments like:

“Torn Asunder by Renny deGroot is a fabulous novel that not only captured my attention but kept it throughout. It is immensely readable and absolutely irresistible. When historical fiction is written in such a way, then there is no such thing as too much.” M-A Yarde

And

“The author’s knowledge of the events, the people and the language makes this story stand out. It will be part of me for some time to come.” D. Wickenden

And

“The author succeeded in making this historical period come alive. I love it when books do that. History truly is not as dry as school textbooks make it. History was lived by real people just like us, and seeing history through their eyes—even fictional ones—allows us a deeper understanding of the past.” J.B.J.

And – I think this is one of my favourites – from a fan from Ireland – someone I’ve never met, but who has read all my books:

Thank you for the awards. And even more, thank you to all who take the time to write a comment or two to let me know you’ve enjoyed Torn Asunder. It means the world to me.
